Memorial Centre

Bookings query: Wedding Jun 2009, current deposit is £250, originally introduced when we were taking young people’s bookings, a short time ahead.

Change to:

  • £100 booking deposit at time of booking
  • £150 dilapidation deposit 3 months before event

Review at next VF meeting

Charges for a 3-hour set-up for wedding booking; normally people only ask for 1-hour set-up and we charge going rate for this. Suggestions for 3-hour set-up, caretaker costs same as for 1 hour

  • Charge full rate – ask bookings clerk for feedback

Incident; broken door blind during football end of season party for youngsters – incident form completed

Closure Sk8 Pk for cricket matches; young people protested (sit down inside Sk8 Pk) at last home match. Suggest we consider ball stop netting like they have at Alconbury:

  • 6.35m (above ground) socketed poles @ £142.50 each
  • One pole every 5 meteres – 7 required = £997.50
  • Netting @ £2 per sm – 203sm = £406
  • Total = £1,403.50

This is not suitable to be left out all year round

Land rear of Hansell Road:

  • Acceptance in principle from tenant
  • How the company can circumvent environmental surveys, which are not required on agricultural land and avoid red tape
  • We are not on top of their agenda priorities, taken over ICI and much work currently being done on amalgamating the 2 companies
  • Overall though, is positive

Memorial Walk – not practical for our staff to do – currently seeking quotes for digging and laying, we supply material
