5

Matters Arising from those minutes

5.1

SM: 3.4 – Portable kicking walls - 3 x samples tabled, which are fairly inexpensive. They are normally spiked to the ground, but we would need a better way to secure them. Plus sample of a wooden one, also need to find a way of securing, cost £500. Timberline, double-sided sample tabled, cost £875. Richmond DC has installed a high sided wire one as part of ASB prevention, which has the provision to insert a goal facility. SM recommends this version, which could fit in nicely with a multi sports area. This is not portable so would need installation on hard surfacing – obtain quote, research funding

Bar – not all parties/events are booking the bar. Discussion: increase bar use. DPS (Designated Premises Supervisor) is happy to lock up & alarm following any function which books the bar. Benefits summarised:

  • Increase in Income
  • Decrease in caretaking costs
  • Having a DPS on the premises means the PC has better control over any event
  • Better control also increases PC reputation in providing a suitable venue for all types of events, including family ones
  • Less rubbish for PC to dispose of (bottles, cans etc)

Members are happy for DPS to lock & alarm building & lock gate.

Liaise with bookings clerk to promote the bar for all parties/similar type events for a period of 6 months & report back. Smaller events, such as quiz nights, to be excluded

  • PD is to meet a consultant on Wed week who will provide provisional designs & costs FOC, on the proviso he is able to tender at the appropriate time
  • HDC to advise on contractors & available funding opportunities
