A Meeting of Brampton Parish Council was held on Wednesday 14 Apr 2008 at 7.30pm in

Tonight is the last meeting of the current council

Hearing loop to community room has been installed today but has a faulty amplifier. Will correct and install by next week

District Council Report

 

 

PD reported:

 

5.1

HDC has adopted an Environment Strategy; recycling, reduce waste, heating, lighting. It has no specific targets. Waste is to be transported further so there is an impact on carbon emissions

Guided bus lane down Hartford Road; presented evidence this will increase carbon footprint

 

5.3

Response from Parish Charter consultation a little disappointing. Outcome will emerge shortly

 

5.4

Huntingdon West Area Action Plan is currently on hold. Moving the Technical College is to go to development control in May and council in June

Will be electing a new leader in May

Have changed their new highway policy on lowering speed limits. No longer considering a 20mph limit unless the average speed is 24mph or less, they are now saying will only install if average is 20mph or less
