Road Closures w/c Monday 1st August

For this week, the planned full closures are:

Saturday 6 8am to 5pm

• B1514 Brampton Road between Scholars Avenue and Edison Bell Way

Vehicles on the Huntingdon town centre side will be diverted onto the ring road, St Peters Road to A141 west to Brampton / Brampton Racecourse junction and into Brampton via B1514.
Vehicles on the Brampton side of the closure will follow this diversion in reverse.

Saturday 6 (one night)

• A1 northbound Brampton Hut exit slip

Vehicles will be diverted to continue north on the A1 to Alconbury, exit and return on the A1 southbound for access to Brampton Hut roundabout and the A141

• A1 northbound between Buckden roundabout and the A14/A1 Brampton Interchange

Vehicles will be diverted east on the A428 at Wyboston, north on the A1198 to join the A14 westbound at Godmanchester junction 23. From here traffic can then exit the A14 at Brampton Interchange junction 22 to access the A1 or can continue their journey on the A14.

Notice of Vacancy in office of Parish Councillor on the Brampton Parish Council

Notice is hereby given pursuant to section 87(2) of the Local Government Act 1972 that due to the resignation of Councillor Linda Hicks there is a vacancy on the Brampton Parish Council.

If, within 14 statutory days after the date of this notice, a request for an election to fill the vacancy is made in writing to the Proper Officer, Huntingdonshire District Council, Pathfinder House, Huntingdon PE29 3TN by ten electors of the Parish an election will be held. If no such notice is given the Parish Council will fill the vacancy by co-option.

If any member of the Parish would like to be considered for co-option, please contact the Parish Clerk.

Climate Action

Net Zero Cambridgeshire 2045

CCC Declared a Climate and Environment Emergency in May 2019. This declaration set us all on a pathway to securing a sustainable future for our County and its residents. It committed us to developing a Strategy and Action Plan for reducing carbon emissions, improving resilience to climate impacts and encouraging and enhancing the natural environment, and set out our vision for Cambridgeshire.

Since our declaration and first Strategy a lot has changed. We have all faced the challenges of the Covid-19 Pandemic, but also seen our communities galvanise in response and a renewed appreciation for access to green space.

The awareness and understanding of the risks we face from the impacts of climate change has grown. The evidence is clear. It is important that we now transition quickly away from a focus on what the change is, to a focus on the how, and how quickly we make that change happen at the scale needed to avoid catastrophic impacts.

This page will now be the focus for climate actions being taken and to be taken by the Brampton Parish Council.
